Brief Biography
Abraham Lincolnwas the United States sixteenth president. He was born born February 12, 1809, in Hardin County, Kentucky. He began his political career as a Illinois Legislator. He then became a lawyer in 1836. A few years later he met and married a woman by the name of Marry Todd and together thay had four children. He was then nominated for president in 1860 and won the election. President Lincoln delivered the Gettsburg Address on November 19, 1863. He also issued the Emancipation Proclamation on Janurary 1, 1863. However, his greatest challenge through out his presidency was the civil war. Unfortunately, in 1865 Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes.
